What to say about Farpoint? I’m impressed! I picked up the Aim Bundle on release day, and I couldn’t be happier I did. The game itself looks incredible, aside from minor issues.

The landscape and atmosphere fully come to life in VR. The single player campaign puts you on a mission searching for members of your crew as you are separated from them after they fell into a wormhole in space. You interact with them by scanning holograms of their previous locations, giving you insight as to where to go and your current objectives. The enemies only vary slightly unfortunately, but are designed well and have unique attack patterns. The gameplay is fairly basic, but the real experience is playing through the story in VR. It looks great, and truly immerses you in the game.

The Aim Controller is by far the best peripheral I have ever owned. Its sturdy but not heavy, extremely accurate, and has separate vibration features for each hand as you hold your weapon. Aiming down the sights in VR is an awesome experience, and gives the illusion of actually holding a firearm. There is a wide variety of weapons to find as you progress, and each one feels and handles differently from the last. To switch out your weapon for another, simply reach back over your shoulder as if youre actually carrying multiple weapons at once. It really works well while switching from your rifle to a shotgun on the fly in intense firefights.

If you have a PSVR, or are thinking about getting one, be sure to pick this one up. For just under $80, you get the game and the Aim Controller. The game alone is $50, so you’re basically getting the Aim for just $30, which is worth its $60 price by itself. A few VR titles have already utilize it, and many more to come in the future. I’m looking forward to see what this step for PSVR delivers, and the games that the Aim Controller will take to new heights.
